La Grammatica delle Forme

2016

This installation more than nine metres high for the stained glass window of the deconsecrated church of San Sisto in Milan is intended as a tribute to the poetic of the sculptor Francesco Messina and is inspired by one of his most famous lyrics, I tigli del parco. Through a translucent material that recalls ancient stained glass windows, I created a sequence of nanomolecules articulated as if it were a germinative grammar of shapes entwined with white flower buds. The genesis of the forms creates a spontaneous and vitalistic fractal flow. As the physicist Werner Heisenberg, one of the founders of quantum mechanics, wrote: “when man investigates nature and the universe, far from seeking and finding objective qualities, he finds himself”.
