The point for Giuliana Cunéaz, therefore, is not the use of technology as the display of special
effects or indulgence in them. Rather the purpose is to bring worlds into being so as to conduct research, prompt us to reflect on a new ecological condition and find an unprecedented human- world relationship based on the principles of sustainability, so anticipating by twenty years a trend common in today’s art world. In this respect, think of artists such as Jakob Kudsk Steensen, Ian Cheng, Hito Steyerl, and the many theories about the new post-humanism and post- anthropocentrism. It is along these lines that Giuliana Cunéaz’s new project, The Seekers of Light, is directed. A complex, total project, one would say, in the sense of a symphonic work, through the entwining and collaboration between multiple arts, many skills and kinds of knowledge, coordinated by the artist as director.
