PROJECTS

Eden

1992

The installation is made up of various elements (up to twelve) whose shape recalls that of a tree or a load-bearing pillar that appears to be holding up the ceiling from the ground. Inside these iron structures are monitors showing still life paintings from various periods ( from XIV to XX century)  subjected to a process of constant change. The sequences are not chronological but random and  the images fade into one another.
There is a clear relationship between the heavy form of the structure and the levity of the video images that celebrate pleasure and physicalness. As they have no material depth, and they are place high above the observer they appear to be attractive, untouchable apparitions.
